The Window Energy Profiler (Model # WP4501)
• Test the Energy Performance of Windows or Glass Samples with the following four measurements:
- UV Transmission %
- Visible Light Transmission %
- Infrared Transmission %
- SHGC (estimated value)
- Test installed windows (in-frame). The WP4501 has a large enough opening to fit over the window sash of your customer's current windows.
- The WP4501 is the first product that allows the salesperson to evaluate the current situation of the customer's home by testing their existing windows. Then use the same instrument to show the superior performance of your window.
- Educate your customers about the benefits of your energy efficient glass up sell them to higher quality glass like SmartSun™.
Using the Window Energy Profiler During Your Sales Presentation
Let's face it. To the average window buyer, all glass basically looks the same. But the performance of the glass and it's coatings make a huge impact on the overall value of the window. Unlike the other physical features of your window (appearance, frame, hinges, locks, etc.), your customer can't understand and appreciate the performance of your glass by simply looking at it or even touching it.
The Window Energy Profiler is designed to bring the invisible performance of your glass to life! It shows your customers that there is a difference in the performance of the glass in the windows you have to offer. Not only will you show them there is a difference, but you can then help them understand and appreciate the benefits your glass will provide for them in their home today and for years to come. Everything you need to give a memorable demonstration is included. Incorporate the WP4501 into your sales demonstration following these guidelines:
- Explain the measurements you will be taking during the demonstration
Before you begin the demonstration, make sure your prospect understands what UV, Visible, Infrared and SHGC represent.
For example, you would tell them:
UV Transmission percentage represents the amount of UV light that passes through their windows. UV light is responsible for fading and damaging furnishings around their home.
Visible Light Transmission percentage represents the actual visible light from the sun the window lets pass through. Let them know that allowing too much light causes glare and eye strain, but blocking too much light defeats one of the main purposes for having windows in the first place.
Infrared Transmission percentage represents the amount of heat from the sun that your window allows to pass into your home. Explain how they can save money on their energy bills by blocking the sun's heat.
SHGC is a similar measurement to Infrared Transmission. It represents the amount of heat gain that a window allows into the home due to the sun. It is another good indicator of the impact your window will have on their energy bills.
- Show them how the Window Energy Profiler works.
You want your prospect to be as "hands on" as possible during the demonstration, so take a moment to make sure they understand how the WP4501 takes real time measurements of windows and glass samples.
- Begin the demonstration by testing their windows.
Hand the Window Energy Profiler to your prospect and ask them to test one of their own windows. As the measurements appear, analyze the readouts one by one and explain the performance of the glass in their home. You may want to write the performance values of their windows down to refer back to while testing your glass samples.

- Test the glass samples.
Now that you have established what they have in their home, test the competing glass samples (clear, double pane clear and double pane Low-E) to give them an idea of some of the competing or basic glass on the market right now. Be thorough in explaining the measurements and the performance of each sample, and compare the performance to what they already have.
After you test the competing samples, move on to the RbA glass samples. You may want to take a moment to remind them of the superior performance of the steel spacer. Again, help them understand the performance the RbA windows and their superiority over what is already in their home.
Infrared Heat Lamp Assembly (Model # HL1040)
Let Your Customers Feel The Difference Your Window Makes
- The HL1040 is great for allowing customers to feel the performance difference between RbA's window and other glass samples.
- The heat lamp is a great tool to get your customers engaged in your demonstration. Simply contrast the amount of heat that is passed through a competing glass sample against a RbA glass sample.
- 250 Watt Infrared Bulb and a convenient 15 foot Power Cord with rocker style on/off switch
***Heat Lamp Safety Considerations***
- Do not leave the glass in front of the heat lamp for more than 3 minutes at a time.
- Allow the heat lamp to cool before putting it away in the sales kit.
- Do not touch the bulb.
Non-Contact Infrared Thermometer (Model # MT1576)
- The MT1576 allows the customer to quantify an actual temperature difference among glass samples - something all customers can relate to.
- The instrument has a Full-Color Display with the MAX value shown on the bottom of the display. This allows you to do a "before and after" comparison between glass samples.
- Use alongside the heat lamp and glass samples to quantify the temperature difference they feel with their hands.
- Laser pointer forms a circular ring that shows the actual area being measured by the thermometer
- 12:1 distance-to-spot ratio
